Artistic Experiences:
Arthur Knight was born in Fremantle and has had a life long interest in the arts.
During the 1980’s he studied Arts and painting at Fremantle Arts Centre, tutored by several well known Western Australian Artists. He has exhibited his paintings in numerous locations throughout Western Australia, and won many art awards for his colourful pastels or oils.
Over the years his commitment to the arts has been reflected by his participation as an active and involved as a member of several arts associations, particularly in Rockingham and Melville.
Arthur Knight’s original paintings adorn the walls of homes and corporations throughout Australia, England, and Singapore.
Media:
Arthur enjoys using most mediums including pastels and acrylics, but prefers oil painting.
Artwork:
Arthur Knight has gained much inspiration from his extensive travels working both from his photographs and from memory, sometimes abstracting the painting if he feels the need.
He paints most subjects including Still Life studies and Australian Landscapes or wildflowers. Sometimes Arthur’s writing skills come to the fore and a poem may be included as a literary expression of the subject to complement the painting within the picture frame.
