QUALIFICATIONS: Dip of fine Arts – East Sydney Technical ARTIST: Christine was born in Mackay Queensland. She always had a natural ability to draw with this talent being acknowledged at an early age. Her family greatly encouraged this talent and sent her to further her Art education in Sydney. Here she found her love of portraiture amongst the varied artistic fields that she explored. On leaving College Christine went on to teach Fine Arts at W.E.A. Workers Educational Association of Wollongong in N.S.W. On coming to Western Australia in the early nineteen eighties Christine found employment with the well known art supply company ‘Jackson’s Drawing Supplies’ here she was exposed to the huge volume of manufactured products giving her a substantial understanding and knowledge of art materials and equipment. This along with her teaching knowledge is now shared with her students and clients that attend Rockingham’s leading arts supply outlet ‘About Art’. MEDIA: As explained above, Christine has been exposed to both traditional and contemporary Media with their associated Mediums, Grounds and tools of application. She has gained by exploring the interaction and technical correctness of these elements but favours traditional oils... CATEGORIES & SUBJECTS: In Fine Arts, Christine works in Traditional Categories of Portraiture and is open to commission ARTWORKS: Christine is a prize winning artist who exhibits successfully in competitive exhibition. She is often employed for Art Demonstration, Tutoring and Workshop Facilitating. Her successful skill in Portraiture has resulted in many commissions, these being housed in prominent Art Collections. Along with her business partner, Christine contributes generously to community fundraising for many local associations.
