ARTIST: Julie Green is an established self taught artist who has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. She has a love of traditional visuals and the ability to capture those images in artistic formats. MEDIA: Her chosen media is mainly Pastel, a difficult and precise media in the areas of portraiture. More recently Julie has taken to working in oils and is finding the canvas surfaces and fluid movements a challenging and rewarding experience, the results of both media a credit to the artist. SUBJECTS: Over the years Julie’s subject material has varied and has included Still Life, Landscapes, Historical Buildings and Sea Scenes. She is she now following a new direction with a liking for Portraiture. It is evident that animals, especially dogs, have become her favourite subject and often paints images of loved pets. Her ability to portray the stance, expressions and features of ‘man’s best friend’ is confirmed by the number of happy clients that have their animal’s images hanging on their walls. COMMENT: Julie has lived in many parts of Australia and explains: “Over the years I have been a member of various art groups in towns where I have lived including Wynyard, in Tasmania, Kalgoorlie and Cue in Western Australia. In all these locations I successfully exhibited, displayed and sold my artwork. As is frequently the case in country town, I found myself painting the numerous historical buildings selling the artworks from local stores and art outlet locations.” ARTWORKS: Julie now lives in Rockingham and proudly exhibits with the Rockingham Regional Arts. Her artwork is frequently displayed in ‘About Art’, Rockingham’s popular art store. Julie is available for commissions - please refer to the above Contacts.
