Lila Tsangaris

QUALIFICATIONS: Lila studied Visual Arts at both the Fremantle Tafe and Rockingham Tafe. Colleges. From these she gained a Certificate and Diploma in Art Studies.

ARTIST: Lila has a great love of art and whole heartedly involves herself in local community art organisations. In these groups she frequently takes Office and much responsibility, always generously giving of her time and skills. She has been involved in the Rockingham Watercolour Society for many years and is always on hand to assist in the running of the associations popular, annually held, Exhibition. It is in this and other displays such as held by the Rockingham Regional Arts Lila’s clients have followed her career and many works have changed hands from artist to purchaser. Lila has been fortunate to have travelled extensively within Australia and overseas. These travels have inspired her imagination and forms much of the basis on which she selects colours, shapes and tone. As a result we see Lila’s artwork ranging between categories that emphasise colour. Purposeful experimentation in Media and Mediums lends Lila’s artwork to textural differences expanding the visuals into forms that demand the viewer’s participation. Her splashes of brilliant colour overlap line and space enhancing delightful free form applications. Both Lila and her artwork are very popular.

MEDIA: Lila has the ability to work in numerous Media, Mediums and Techniques but has a preference for Watercolour executed in Expressionism.

SUBJECTS: Lila has explored many formats of Style this giving her a vast list of subject from which to choose. She often starts in the abstract and works into a theme of recognition, such as seen in the lower left hand image on this page. Likewise she can work competently in forms of impression where the subject is definite, but free flowing such as the right hand image of Sunflowers.
