QUALIFICATIONS: 1980 Post Graduate Certificate in Education Manchester Polytechnic. U.K.
ARTIST: Tony is a respected Art teacher and noted Visual Artist. He immigrated to Australia from the UK with my family in 1988. A few months later he gained employment with the Education Department of WA. He moved to Rockingham taking up the position of Arts Teacher at Rockingham Senior High School. This was followed by appointments in Perth Metro and Country Service in Katanning. We returned to Rockingham in 1995 as Art Teacher at the Safety Bay Senior High School. Here he worked until the end of 2005 frequently organizing community based exhibitions for the students. This additional interest on the student’s behalf ensured that they had the opportunity to participate and show their skills in out of school arts events. As a result the School has received community recognition for the quality and standard of its artworks. Outside of school activities Tony has remained an active artist. MEDIA: Besides the numerous media used for painting and drawing Tony has a strong interest in Digital Media, Photography and Graphic Design. SUBJECTS: In recent years Tony has looked to Still-Life as a focus for his artwork, partly because in procedure he can return to it as it suites. He enjoys working with shapes, especially those found and created by nature, but his interest also extends to man-made objects and materials which he depicts in truth and artistic format.
