NEXT GLASS WITH THE ARTIST - 14th February 2008

Guest speaker (Literary Arts) : Ray Coffee Ray Coffey is Publisher at Fremantle Press (formally Fremantle Arts Centre Press). He began with the Press as Managing Editor in 1978, and has been privileged to have worked, in one capacity or another, with most of the writers to have been published by Fremantle. He has also edited or co-edited numerous anthologies. Has been a member, and chair, of various committees associated with the Arts and publishing over many years. In 2005 he received an Order of Australia in recognition of the contribution he has made with the Press to the nurture and development of Australian literature. All Welcome!

This event is held every second Thursday in the month. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start - at the Bridge Club Romm (side entrance) McLarty Hall, Shoalwater. Those attending, as visitors, must advise their intention before the meeting. All sit to tables with refreshments and nibbles, while listening to a renowned guest speaker or demonstrator.

The popular ‘RRA Glass with the Artist’ has been enjoyed by many and is gaining recognition and popularity.

2005 - 2006 Guest Speakers

Among these have been Alasdair and Rish Gordon Master Glass Artists with their fine glass and crystal engraving, Visual Artist Howard Hallum from Canada, and Bernice Wright, renowned Western Australian watercolourist.
Writers have also shared their journeys from inspiration to publishing, with Martin Chambers, Teena Raffa-Mulligan and Sue Mc Dougall whilst musician Alain Thirion captivated audiences with his amazing “Flute n Veg” demonstration that included indigenous instruments of the world and making carrots into panpipes!
